a rocky start..

Dear everyone,
So Since my DOJ came closer, I was getting more and more nervous... But then all of a sudden I got a call from Abu Dhabi (a week before the 19th of October).

There was this lovely lady telling me the unfortunate news.. I was not able to begin on October 19 :(

This probably had to do with my age... I will not be 21 yet on the 19th of October, so I will not be able to receive my visa and fly to Abu Dhabi...

Of course this sounded like devastating news. I was already packed and ready for take off !

Luckily I immediately received a new contract and a new DOJ !

my new Date Of Joining will be:

23 November 2014

I am extremely looking forward to this new date, and I think I will be flying on my 21st BIRTHDAY! (20 November) haha how is that for a birthday present ;)

What we would say in Holland about this situation ''wat in het vat zit, verzuurt niet'' which means something like: it will come to me anyway, it will be worth it in the end :)

The advantages are not bad either, because this extra time in my home country will give me longer the opportunity to say goodbye to my friends and family.

Will keep you updated about the actual date I will fly to AUH!

moving to AUH comes closer...

Dear all!

Recently I got an e-mail from Etihad regarding my starting date !!

My date of joining (DOJ) will be:

19th October 2014 !

I cannot believe my DOJ is finally noted !

Finally after all this waiting I have more clarity in my life.

Yesterday I received my contract already and after reading it for a 10000 times I was ready to sign & send it today !

This means of course I have to arrange A LOT before I am able to finally move out of Holland.

For example I need to request a creditcard, I need to make a dental X-ray, make another 18 passport size photos, need to quit my mobile provider, let my city know that  I am moving outside the country, let my current employer know I will be having another job.... and on and on goes the list !

Just over 2 more months and I am out of here, I think I still do not realize it to the fullest until I am on the etihad plane traveling to Abu Dhabi...

but this time will pass by before I know it !

The good news....

I received this exciting e-mail from Etihad at 25-6-2014. This was exactly 2 days

after I joined a selection day in Amsterdam. ( If you have any questions for preparations if you want to become a cabin attendant yourself, please do not hesitate to contact me :))

My heart was bouncing, I could literally not believe what I was reading...

I WAS ACCEPTED !!!

My dream job was becoming more realistic.

at the moment this e-mail was send I still am 20.

November 20 2014 will be the date I become 21, so I still have enough time to

get used to the idea and prepare myself for this life changing job.

This is hopefully the beginning of a great journey in my life.

I was possibly the happiest girl on the planet at this moment.

Of course I realized I could not start until I reached the age of 21.
